Fishing
Report for the week of 6/17/06 - 6/23/06
It's hot and the bite is good! Clients
this week caught a lot of bass and now that the water is around 75 degrees and
up, they are moving under docks and rockpiles in both the south and north ends.
Grubs on dartheads and 6 inch Robo mm111 worms on drop shot will put fish in the
boat. We're not having a good top water bite as of yet but that should change as
the weeds start to reach the top of the water. Drink a lot of water in this
heat..."Tight-Lines" Richard

Fishing Report for the week of 6/10/06 -
6/16/06
Clients did very well this week catching
bass to 4 pounds but could not get on the big bite. Summer is back as of today,
so the bass should start getting more and more into their summer pattern.
Rockpiles, under docks and along tule lines will become better with more bass
moving into these locations. Drop shot is still your best bet. Also frogs
first thing in the morning have been working along with some top water action on
Lucky Craft Sam'ies and Super-Spooks. Both the north and south ends are
producing fish, so go out there and have fun!

Fishing Report for the week of 6/03/06 -
6/09/06
This week started off slow with just a
few bass being caught on half day trips, however things are better now, the bite
is holding its own. Drop shot is still the best bet but the last couple of days
clients were also catching some on Persuader Buzzbaits & jig's. There are a
few nice fish hitting frogs if you throw them a lot. Senkos were also working
for clients this week. Mid lake north to Nice is where we fished this week, not
sure about what is going on down south. Fish your soft plastic slow! Have
a good time out there and hope to see you on the water.. Richard

Fishing Report for the week of 5/27/06 -
6/02/06
It's a "roller-coaster ride",
one day very good, the next not so good and so forth. The best bite has been on
the drop shot plus some spinnerbait action as well. Fished the south end of the
lake the other day with clients from NV, not so good, had to go north for some
fish. It's going to be very busy this weekend with the carp shoot and two team
tourneys plus some club tourneys. The best bite this week came from mid lake
around rock and tules. The north end was very good yesterday with a couple of
new bass fishermen catching 19 nice bass to over 4 pounds.
Today me and a buddy (I had a no show
)
went to the same water and only caught 5 bass and a catfish, oh well that's
about the way its been. Be safe, hope to see you on the water.. Richard

5/26/06
Fishin' remains about the same as the
last two weeks, with a little improvement but not much. Big bass this week was a
5.8 which I caught on a drop-shot plus some 4 plus lb'ers on the new
chatterbait. Some folks have been doing well on split shotting a mmIII Robo thru
the tules. If this weather would go away the fishing should get much better as
the bass start getting on their summer pattern. Be extra safe this
weekend and have a good time! Richard

Things are much better this week with the
drop shot being the best producer, using Robo mm111. Some fish were caught on
spinnerbaits and chatter baits. Now that the weather has gone south again, not
sure what will be the best bait, however I did get a nice 5.8 lb'er today on the
drop shot but the bite was very slow. Good luck out there and have fun...

The weather is hot but the bite is not.
Its been a slow week with just a few fish being caught on each trip, however
today it was much better. My client and I were trying out the new "chatter
bait" and spinner baits, which caught 14 fish up to 4 pounds in the north
end. More bass are now starting to "lock-on" their beds and if you are
a site fisherman you should do very good. "Tight-Lines"...Richard

Big bass are everywhere but getting them
to bite is another story. There are some bedding fish, however the big push has
not started yet. The next full moon in about a week should see a lot of bass
doing their thing. Fishing is a bit slow at this time with quality bass (4
lbs or better) just cruising and not feeding very much. Senkos, rip-baits and
swimbaits seem to be your best bet in the north end. Reports from the south end
are that fishing is very slow and mostly small bass. Good luck out there!

"Spring has sprung", right into
summer! The big bass are moving up shallow and a lot are on their beds, however
I saw very few "locked-on" which could change in the next few days.
Clients this week did very well on minnows, catching bass to 10.1 pounds. The
lure bite seems to have slowed down quite a bit from last week from reports from
other fisherman. There are just literally hundreds of cruising bass in the north
end of the lake but try to catch them is very, very hard, senkos may be your
best bet... Enjoy the nice weather.. See you on the water! Richard

Fishing Report for the week of
4/15/06 - 4/21/06
Warmer weather and clearing water has the
bass on the move, you can see buck bass in the shallows and some cruising
females starting to come in. Water temp at 1pm today was 57 degrees.
Clients this week caught well over 100 bass to 7 pounds, mostly on minnows.
As far as lures, the "rip bait bite" has been doing good, also the
swimbait, spinnerbait and drop-shot. The drop-shot accounted for a few bass over
5 pounds by clients this week. The report down in the south end is good with
clear water down to 6+ feet. There was a very slow bite today for most of
us, 'myself included'. We only fished north around Lakeport and County
park . Be safe, there are a lot of boats this weekend with 5 tourny's going
on.."Tight-Lines"!....Richard

Fishing Report for the week of 4/8/05 -
4/14/06
Believe it or not the best fishin was
during the rain and wind! Now that the sun is out the bite has been very slow,
they don't know how to act with sun on the water..
.
Clients this week rescheduled their trips because of the weather on Monday,
Tuesday and Wednsday. Thursday was ok on lures with bass to 4.5 pounds. On
Friday, minnows got much better results, a lot of good bass to 10.2 Pounds.
I've only been fishing in the north end, not sure about the bite in the south
end. Most people are catching fish on a variety of lures in water from 3 to 10
feet. Take care out there and have fun! Richard
Fishing Report for the week of 4/1/06 -
4/07/06
A strange thing happened Thursday, there
was no wind or rain and the sun was out! However that's over now, back to the
abnormal weather. The bass are still biting and the water temperature is all the
way up to 50 degrees. Ugh! Bass are on hold for the spawn which will start when
the water gets around 60 + degrees.
Clients this week did very good catching
bass to 6.10 pounds. Most were caught on minnows in the north end in water
around 4 to 10'. Thursday's "sun" brought a lot of 3 to 7 pound bass
up closer to spawning areas and my clients caught 31 bass with the best 5
weighing in at 30.4 pounds! I talked to some other fishermen and they were
doing well on swim baits and another was getting them on spinner baits. Water
clarity in the north end is ok in most areas and in the south its very good.
All-in-all the fishing is very good on most days, just keep at it, it's
bound to break for the better in the next week or two? "Set the hook"
and keep a tight line! Richard

Fishing Report for the week of 3/25/06 -
3/31/06
Rain and more rain but the bite is good.
Clients this week caught over 100 bass to 8.13 pounds! Not bad under these
weather conditions. Drop shot and jigs are working but the minnow bite is
your best bet. The north end was good all this week, however with this latest
rain it may get a little tough. Wish for sun! See you on the water....Richard
Fishing Report for the week of
3/18/06 - 3/24/06
Weather or not, these fish are on the
move and biting! Clients this week did very good catching over 100 bass to
over 6 pounds. Minnows and also drop shot are working very good as well as just
about everything you would like to throw. Just go out and pick up your favorite
lure and have fun. All of my clients this week fished in and around the
Lakeport area, not sure what is going on in the south end. Water
temp in the pm around 50 to 52. "Tight Lines" Richard
Fishing Report for the week of
3/12/06 - 3/17/06
Lots of nasty weather this week, but the
bite was good! Clients caught a lot of bass to 6.3 pounds by using dropshot and
darthead with 6" worms and brush hogs. Minnows did most of the work. The
water was getting very nice in the Lakeport area, however the big rain storm we
had Thursday got things a little muddy up that way today. I also had reports of
bass being caught on swim baits and spinner baits this week. Look for better
weather and warmer water this next week and much better fishin'! Take Care, see
you on the water.. Richard
Fishing Report for the week of
3/04/06 - 3/11/06
Despite the cold, snow, wind and rain,
clients this week had some very good fishin'. The best bite has been from mid
lake south in water from 4 to 10' using drop shot and darthead with 6" Robo
worms fished very, very slow. However most fish were caught on minnows up to
over 8 pounds. If this weather will ever break and start warming up, the bite
should break wide open! Good luck out there! Richard
Fishing Report for the week of 2/25/06 -
3/03/06
This is just a short report because I
took the week off to stay out of the way the 200 boat FLW-Stren tourney guys and
gals. The weather has been pretty bad all week for the first two days 3,419 bass
were brought to the scales with a 12.7 lb'er caught by Terry Stark from
Sacramento (non-boater). The bite overall has been good, with drop shot
and dart heads catching most of the fish. The water in the north end is muddy
from the rain so your best bet is mid lake south in water from 3 to 18'. Dress
warm its very cold out there... Hope to see you on the water..
Richard
Fishing Report for the week of 2/18/06 -
2/24/06
The big boys will be here next week from
1st to 4th of March for the F.L.W Stren tourney (200 boats) and it looks like
the weather will play a large part in how they do. The forcast is rain
which may make it better for larger bass. This week clients caught close
to 100 bass to 5.13 lbs. Most were fish were caught with minnows. There is
a bite on drop-shot and jigs plus some "rip" and "crank"
fish are being caught, mostly in the north end. I tried the first part of this
week in the south end but only small fish to 3.8 lbs. Water temp after the
cold mornings is around 51 and most fish are in water from 4 to 7 feet.
"Tight Lines" See you on the water... Richard

2/17/06
It was nice while it lasted but winter is
back now and the bite has slowed. Clients this week did good catching bass to
over 6 pounds, mostly on minnows. Your best bet for lures is still the drop shot
and jig, however I have received some reports that the "rip bite"
picked up just before this front came through, plus some spinner bait fish were
caught by my self and a friend this past week to 4 plus pounds. All my fishin'
this week was in the north end around docks and tules in water from 3' to 8'.
Now with this cold front look for them to move back out to the ends of docks and
in front of tules. Good Luck out there and stay warm, if you can..
Richard
PS: I just got a new 2006 225hp Evinrude
HO E-Tec from Marine
Unlimited in Santa Rosa. Very nice guys down there!
Fishing Report for the week of 2/04/06 -
2/10/06
Warm weather has gotten the bass bite
going. Clients this week have been catching bass from 3 plus to over 6 pounds in
the north end, mostly on minnows. The drop shot is also doing the trick with a
few to 4 pounds. The numbers are not great but the quality is good in the
north end. For numbers go south with jigs and drop shot, there are some reports
that spinner baits are catching some bass, try throwing them into the tules and
bump them on a very slow roll. Water temp in the morning is around 48°
going up to around 53° in the afternoon. Good luck out there and hope to
see you on the water... Richard
Fishing Report for the week of 1/28/06 -
2/03/06
Last week I said that the fishin' can
only get better, well it hasn't. Wind and rain has the bass bite slow even with
minnows. A client did catch 24 bass last week but nothing over 2 pounds.
Look for the bite to improve if this weather gets better. Drop shot and jigs
fished very slow in either the south or north end is working for a few bass a
day.. Good Luck! Richard
Fishing Report for the week of 1/23/06 - 1/27/06
Hi folks I know there hasn't been any fishin' reports
of late, because I have been doing the last two weeks at the sport shows. Now
that that's all out of the way it's back on the water. I've just been out the
last few days and the fishin' is fair with a 4 lb'er the largest of about 18
bass, all caught on drop shot and jigs in the north end. I did some calling
around and the south end is a little better for numbers but it's still slow down
there to. Hope to have a better report next week, it can only get better..

Fishing Report for the week of 1/05/06 - 1/11/06
Not a lot to report other than the north end of the
lake is still muddy and the lake is full.. Your best bet is the south end
where the water is in very good shape. I had a client out on Saturday morning
and we fished south using drop shot and darthead with Robo 6" worms. We
found out that we had to "slow-way" down before the bass started to
bite, then we hooked up with 14 very nice bass to 6.4 pounds. Most of the fish
were in 4 to 10' of water. Water temp. 47 to 49. Dress warm and stay
dry... I will be at the San Mateo and Sacamento ISE Shows this weekend and next
hope to see you there. "Tight Lines" Richard
