Fishing Report for the week of 5/26/07 - 6/01/07 Nice
weather and good fishin', what more could you ask for! Clients this
week caught approximately 200 bass to 6 pounds. Most bass were caught
on drop-shot & Senko's. Top water has been ok in the early morning
with buzzbaits & Zara Super Spooks. Spinner baits for bass to 6+
pounds are also working in the early hours. Most fish are being caught
from mid lake to Rodman Slough. No reports from the south end other
than they are doing good there also. Have a great day fishin' and keep a "Tight line" Richard
Fishing Report for the week of 5/18/07 - 5/25/07 Fishing has been very good this past week with
clients catching bass to over 8 pounds on drop shot and over 6 pounds on spinner
& buzzbaits. The north end to mid lake has been the best for clients. I have
not been down south at all this year because of the wind and of course the bite
up here has been good. Drop shot with 6" Robo mm3 has been the top bait and
baby brushhogs have been about the same... Have a safe weekend and catch a lot of fish!

Fishing Report for the week of 5/05/07 - 5/11/07 Nice
weather has the bass biting very good first thing in the morning but
after the sun gets high they slow way down. Your best bet is the old
drop-shot and there are some frog fish being caught in both the north
and south ends. There are still bedding bass to be caught, just hard to
find the big girls.. "Tight-Lines" Richard

Report for the week of 4/28/07 - 5/04/07 Weather in and weather out and the
same goes for the bass. This latest weather front slowed the bite down a bit.
The first part of the week was very good with bedding bass and drop
shot around docks and tules from State Park to the northend of
Lakeport, then the bass backed off into the 5' to 8' depths, now with
the passing of this last front they will be moving back to the banks
for some more spawning. Also there is an ever increasing number of post
spawn fish, they will still be shallow but not as easy to catch untill
they recover their strength from spawning. "Tight-Lines" Richard

Report for the week of 4/21/07 - 4/27/07 I
took this week off for some long overdue dental work, plus with all the
boats for the F.L.W. (188) it worked out fine and I will be back on the
water starting Sunday. However for now the reports from around the lake
have the bass moving onto their beds "again" around the south and north
ends. Sight fishing, swimbaits, dropshot and senko's have been some of
the top baits. Overall the fishin' is rated from good to very good..

Report for the week of 4/07/07 - 4/14/07 Cold
mornings and wind has turned the bite down but not off. There are a lot
of bass being caught all over the lake on a variety lures. For my
clients, drop shot has been working best in water from 2' to 10'. Best
bass was a 9.3 lb'er! also three over 6 and most of the other bass were
from three to four plus pounds.. Looks as though the weather is
going tp improve for this next week. "Tight-Lines"

Report for the week of 3/30/07 - 4/06/07
Fishin'
is off the hook, just about everything is working.. The big bass
are on their beds or just getting ready to spawn. For
the best report tune in to ESPN #2 Saturday April 7th at 6am. The
record for a four day tournament was set at 122.14 pounds!! by Steve
Kennedy from my old state of Alabama. The ELITE BASS folks have never
seen so many big bass for one tournament!! CLEAR LAKE is the #1 lake in
the nation, if not the world! Hope to see you on the water and "Tight-Lines". Richard Click Here & Here for recent photos Fishing
Report for the week of 3/17/07 - 3/23/07 Clients
this week did great catching 150 bass to 7 pounds with a lot of 5+
pounders and 2 over 6, the rest from 2 to 4.13 pounds. A variety of
lures have been working. Swimbaits and minnows accounted for the most
fish this week. The north end from Lakeport to Nice and around to the
State Park and back up along the shore to Lakeport have bass moving up
getting ready for the spawn.. Be safe out there.. Richard

Report for the week of 3/10/07 - 3/16/07 It's
been a record week for big bass, in fact the lake record was broken
this past weekend with a 10 fish limit weighing an awesome 74+ pounds!!
Big bass of the tournament was 12.96 pounds. I don't think it gets any
better than this! The bite is on and rip-baits & swimbaits were the
top producers, mostly in the north end of the lake. A lot of fish are
on the move into shallow water and mouths of creeks getting ready for
the first spawn which will start taking place when the water gets
around 65 degrees. The north end has been the best however the south is
starting to turn on as the water warms up. Surface water temperatures
on Thursday were 58 to 59 degrees. Clients this week did
very good using lures and minnows. Big bass this week, an 8.10 lb'er
was caught on a swimbait. "Tight-Lines" Richard

Report for the week of 3/02/07 - 3/09/07 The
lake is going to be very busy for the next few weeks with a lot of
prefishin' for tournaments plus a tournament on every weekend. The good
news is that the bass are starting to move up shallow and getting ready
for the spawn. The north end is where all the action is because of the
shallow water which warms faster than the deeper south end. A
variety of lures have been working from swimbaits to 4" worms but the
hot presentation has been the shaky head and a 6" worm fished back in
the tules. Another method is the old stand by "carolina rig". I had a
client this week that did good with this rig using a Yamamoto 5" d/t
h-grub watermelon/blk&red. Have fun out there! See you on the water.. Richard

Report for the week of 2/17/07 - 2/23/07 Just
when the bite was geting good this cold front hit with rain and stong
winds so the bite has slowed. The first part of this week was very good
with bass holding from 2' to 8'. I had 5 trips for the week but was
only able to get three of them in because of the weather. Clients did
very good with minnows in the north end with bass to 8 3/4 pounds. They
also averaged 27 fish per trip, not bad for 5 hour trips. The
tournament guys have been doing good on a variety of lures: spinner
baits, crankbaits, swim baits & soft plastic's, but with this
weather change it will slow and so should your retrieve. No reports for
the south end. "Tight Lines" Richard
Fishing
Report for the week of 2/10/07 - 2/16/07 Increasing
water levels, along with warmer water temperatures have the bass on the
move. The north end of the lake will be your best bet this time of year
as it warms up faster. Try staging areas around creeks, coves and
points where the bass will be holding or staging before migrating into
the shallows to spawn. You still have to fish slow but a variety of
lures will work, from swim baits to plastic. I've been trying out
Perusader's new E-chip spinner bait this week and doing good for bass
to 5 pounds, this bite will improve as the water gets around 50 degrees
in the morning. Hope you have a great day out there!

Report for the week of 2/02/07 - 2/09/07 Rain
at last! Now that we have some rain and the weather has warmed up, so
has the bite. Water temperature today got up to 45 degrees, however it
was a slow bite but that should improve over the next few days.
Lipless-crank baits fished very slow in a yo-yo retrieve have been
working, rip-baits are catching bass as well. The north end has the
better bite around County Park and Lakeport. Take care and hope to see
you on the water... Richard

Report for the week of 1/28/07 - 2/02/07
Water temperatures are still in the 40 to 44 dregree range and the
bite is slow. We had to work very hard for our bass the last three weeks, we
need some rain and warmer weather to get this bite up to where it should be.
It's the worst bite I have seen in the last five years. Yesterday however
while fishing with Butch Murphy we got lucky in the afternoon (from 1 to
3:30) and ended the day with 14 nice bass to 4.8 pounds on minnows. As for
lures, plastics and jigs fished very slow in the north end have been doing
fair with just two to five bass for the day. "Tight Lines" Richard
Fishing
Report for the week of 1/22/07 - 1/27/07 Cold, cold mornings have made the bite very slow
with the water temperatures in the 40 to 42 degree range. Minnows are your best
bet however it's even slow for them,"we need some rain". The north end has been
doing ok by minnows, ripbaits, dart head , lv 500 and drop shot, all fished very
very slow around docks and out in front of them. Stay dry and warm. "Tight
Lines" Richard
